I am a young tenor based in the Southeast and London.

I particularly enjoy the musical challenge of Art Song , with repertoire ranging from Britten folksongs to Schumann song cycles. Recent work includes the first recording of Love, Friendship and Longing by Nicholas Smith, the first full performance of John Hawkins’ Both Beauties and Mahler’s Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen with orchestra.
I have performed a wide range of Oratorio, including the title role in Handel’s Samson, and the evangelist in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and St John Passion.

I am active on stage, with a wealth of experience in theatre, musicals and opera, recently winning the Malcolm Rose award for best male character in a G&S, Opera or Operetta in the London Region for my role as Marco in the JLOS production of The Gondoliers.
“In the title role the young tenor Ben Hancox-Lachman was simply superb, singing with a musicality and confidence far beyond his … years and capturing all the dramatic aspects of the role” – Robert Milnes, Sussex World

Ben … filled the chapel with his exquisite voice in a recital of English songs. -Paul Gregory
